EduJourney with Lenovo: An Inspiring Dive into AI
27 października 2025
On 10 October, Lenovo Poland’s Warsaw office hosted a special FDI EduJourney for young people from residential care facilities in Greater Poland and Podlasie. This time, the Foundation’s beneficiaries took part in workshops on artificial intelligence and future skills, led by Lenovo employees as part of skills-based volunteering.
Breakfast with a View of the Future
Sometimes learning begins not with a book, but with a conversation around the table. On 10 October at Lenovo Poland’s headquarters, young people from two residential care facilities—one from Greater Poland and one from Podlasie—began the day with a shared breakfast overlooking Warsaw.
There were croissants, challah, and plenty of laughter at a table bringing together young people from foster care, their carers, the Foundation for Good Initiatives team, and Lenovo volunteers. That moment mattered. Because before the AI workshops began, relationships did—getting to know one another, talking, and letting curiosity build bridges between people.
From Conversation to Action
After a warm-up to break the ice, it was time for the heart of the EduJourney—the AI workshops. Participants trained concentration, attentiveness, and logical thinking, and then—with support from Lenovo volunteers—used AI-powered tools to create visualisations and songs. In groups, the children learned how to write prompts, how to work with AI tools, and how to understand their capabilities and limitations. They tested different AI features, developing logical thinking, collaboration, and self-confidence along the way. There was no shortage of laughter, surprise, and small discoveries—that AI can not only write but also inspire and, above all, that technology can be a creative instrument rather than just a curiosity. The volunteers explained, supported, and—as they themselves admitted—learned alongside the young participants. It was experiential learning at its best.
Emotions that Stay
At the end of the day, the best projects were selected and recognised, but every child received a small gift. There were also certificates for volunteers, words of thanks, group photos, and a shared feeling that each participant—regardless of age—was taking something valuable away. The company benefited too, through increased engagement and loyalty and a stronger reputation as an employer that acts authentically and with heart.
This EduJourney sent the children home with new skills and greater self-belief, and left the volunteers with the sense that they had done something important—for others, but also for themselves. Our thanks to Lenovo Poland for your openness, warmth, and wonderful energy. Thanks to you, our beneficiaries took another step towards independence—with courage, curiosity, and new capabilities.
Shared Action. Real Impact. A Better Future.
If you represent a company that wants not only to support young people but also to develop its own employees, join our programmes. Working with the Foundation for Good Initiatives is more than a gesture of corporate responsibility—it is an investment in people.
Companies that engage with our programmes gain a tangible influence on the development of young people from foster care—and on the growth of their own teams. Skills-based volunteering strengthens employees’ mentoring, communication, and leadership abilities, building a sense of purpose and pride in their workplace. Joint initiatives bring teams together and cultivate empathy, openness, and a culture of shared responsibility—values that are hard to build in the rhythm of everyday office life.
We will help you plan initiatives that truly matter—from skills workshops and off-site volunteering to seasonal projects.
Together, we can do something that grows the next generation—and strengthens your people.
