On 17 October 2024, EduTravelers set off for the Lenovo Polska headquarters. 22 participants from facilities in Stoczek Łukowski and Skopanie had the opportunity to experience a slightly different day-to-day life from school. But it was also about education, which was confirmed by 3 workshops led by trained Lenovo volunteers.
Emotions and needs
The relationship between theFoundation for Good Initiatives and Lenovo goes back several years, giving us the opportunity to develop a joint offer for children in care. This time, keeping in mind the emotions and needs of previous editions, we focused on two well-being workshops. One was a meditation mindfulness training and the other was calming in symbiosis with sound. Playing bowls and gongs is a deeply relaxing ritual that might not be associated with the world of high tech and a hardware manufacturer like Lenovo. And yet! A seemingly simple workshop has become an important exercise in concentration and patience for a group of young people struggling with the overstimulation of everyday life.
Hello Foto
The workshop was complemented by photographic exercises led by Mariusz Stachowiak, 'Oderwany’, entitled Hello Foto. The photographic tactics suggested by the instructor are based on guerrilla, street art, using simple tools, expressing emotions with simple means. Since Lenovo bought the Motorola brand, employees have more and more tools to talk about photography, which is taken with a mobile phone and very much rooted in everyday life.
EduTravel ended with an entertainment programme to let off some steam after sitting still, learning and concentrating for so long. We always give our travelers time to forget learning and focus on enjoying the moment. This time we spent time together in escape rooms and other attractions at the Blue City Shopping Centre in Warsaw.
