On 30 August 2024, we carried out a renovation project in fister care facility in Łuków. In cooperation with Colgate-Palmolive, we renovated the common areas and children’s rooms. More than a dozen volunteers took part in this project as part of the employee volunteering programme.
Renovation work continues to be an important part of The Foundation for Good Initiatives work for the benefit of children in foster care. They allow closer links to be forged with the organisation’s partners, but most importantly make a real contribution to improving the lives of young people in care. Everyday life seems better, and emotional and life issues are a little easier to deal with when a tidy, well-maintained space is conducive to this.
We were amazed by the commitment of the Colgate-Palmolive volunteers, who took on the physically demanding renovation work with enthusiasm that never wavered as the hours passed. Together we took care of the common areas and improved the appearance of the kitchenette and two bathrooms. We also took on the task of refreshing the children’s rooms. The two double rooms now have repainted wall coverings and smoothed wall structures. New small pieces of furniture were also added: blinds, bedside tables and desk chairs.
Good initiatives usually evolve into comprehensive support – and that is what will happen this time. With better housing, the Foundation’s beneficiaries will be able to continue to participate in the FDI’s education and development programmes. Most importantly, they will be able to enjoy the benefits of the renovation project on a daily basis.

By signing up for the newsletter, you consent to the processing of personal data by Fundacja Dobrych Inicjatyw for the purpose of providing the newsletter service in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
The service enables the donation to be made to the Fundacja Dobrych Inicjatyw to support statutory activities and individual initiatives. Online payments are handled by payment operators: PayU SA and PayPal.
On the website of the service, the User is required to provide data such as name, surname, and email in order to proceed to the payment operator’s window. All data collected by Fundacja Dobrych Inicjatyw is protected. To make a one-time donation through the service, after selecting the online payment operator, the User is appropriately redirected to the payment operator’s website.
As part of online payments, the User can make payments using: payment cards, electronic transfers, and traditional transfers. Details regarding the implementation of online payments and the way in which payment operators execute them are determined by the regulations applied by the aforementioned payment operators.
In addition, from the service’s website, the user has the option of obtaining data for making a traditional bank transfer independently.
In justified cases, the Donor may file a complaint and demand a refund of the donated funds. The complaint should be submitted to the following address: biuro@fdi.org.pl, stating „complaint” in the subject line, and providing the reason and detailed transaction data. Each complaint will be considered individually by Fundacja Dobrych Inicjatyw within 14 days of receipt of the complaint.
Fundacja Dobrych Inicjatyw is a public benefit organization. Therefore, a donation made to Fundacja Dobrych Inicjatyw can be deducted when settling personal income tax for the given tax year, in accordance with applicable law – on the date of entry into force of these Regulations. All payments are expressed in Polish zloty (PLN).
