What did we cook up for the 7th edition of the Christmas Tree of Good Hearts campaign?
19 grudnia 2023
On December 18, 2023, the grand finale of the Christmas Tree of Good Hearts (Choinka Dobrych Serc) campaign, organized by The Foundation for Good Initiatives, took place. Thanks to the support of volunteers, partner companies, and Santa Claus himself, we managed to donate 520 presents for children in residential care institutions. But most importantly, we all had the opportunity to meet and summarize a year of cooperation!
The Christmas Tree of Good Hearts campaign is a December initiative for children and youth from institutions cooperating with The Foundation for Good Initiatives. It is an important integrative event that gives us all the opportunity to meet without the pressure of educational and therapeutic results; but simply to be together and get to know each other better. In 2024, the 7th edition of the campaign took place, during which we handed out several hundred presents prepared by volunteers from all over Poland. We managed to build a true Santa Claus community – a network of engagement for children in institutional care. With satisfaction, we thus began the celebration, as behind us lay a year full of successes, and ahead of us awaited a year full of new challenges. Therefore, it was good to pause for a moment and look around at the smiling faces of our charges.
Merry Christmas, Chef!
The 7th edition of the Christmas Tree of Good Hearts campaign was themed „World Cuisine”. The holidays have always been a delicious topic, as we all know. And since last year we celebrated in a sporty way, we decided to give ourselves a break in December 2024. But don’t worry, dear readers, only partially, only partially. After all, together with our partners from McCormick and Ibis hotels, we organized workshops on healthy eating and culinary zero waste practices. So, there was a portion for physical vitality and for healthy morality, taking responsibility for the natural environment in the face of the ecological crisis. We also didn’t forget about instilling the right attitudes among children during joyful celebrations! But we always add a bit of gingerbread icing on top, so that the smiles are not overshadowed by climatic pessimism (a bit more optimism even if just for one day!).
Christmas chain of volunteers
The recipe for successful events for children in institutional care relies on a good network of partnerships. The term „good hearts” in the name of the campaign perfectly captures the energy of the foundation’s actions. We were able to work on behalf of children thanks to the volunteers involved in numerous large and small activities, ranging from general support to more specific tasks. The event was also supported by partner institutions that made it possible to organize one of the largest events of this kind in this part of Europe. These include: Warsaw Expo XXI Center, Alcon, Asbud Group, Cellnex Polska Sp. z o.o., Colgate-Palmolive, Fundacja Integracja, Fundacja PSH Lewiatan, Ibis and Ibis Budget Warszawa Reduta, Ibis Style and Ibis Budget Warszawa Centrum, Ibis Warszawa Centrum, Ibis Warszawa Ostrobramska, Ibis Warszawa Stare Miasto, InterContinental Warszawa, JACOBS, Lenovo Polska, Linklaters, LOTTE Wedel Sp. z o.o., McCormick Polska S.A., Mondelēz International, Piekarnie Lubaszka Sp. z o.o., Société Générale S.A., Statim Integrator, Storware, and Zespół Szkół Gastronomicznych im. prof. Eugeniusza Pijanowskiego.
