EduJourney with Colgate-Palmolive: the pure joy of learning

01 lipca 2025

Thanks to Colgate-Palmolive’s indefatigable volunteers, on 13 June 2025 twenty of our beneficiaries from residential care facilities in Kisielany, Małachowo, and Supraśl took part in an inspiring EduJourney to the Warsaw office of an international corporation. Brimming with good energy, company employees shared practical know-how in effective communication and financial management—with enthusiasm and creativity to spare. As a result, despite the “unlucky” date, that Friday the 13th was pure pleasure. 😉

Communication that Connects

The first part of the workshop focused on exercises in non-verbal communication, effective dialogue, and teamwork. Through group games and simulations, participants explored the value of trust and taking responsibility for other members of the team.

Making Life Add Up—Literally

The second workshop was a journey through the world of money—spending it, saving it, and investing it. The young people learned the basics of managing a household budget and confronted financial pitfalls that can catch out even adults. Thanks to a well-designed simulation game, they saw that every decision has consequences—and that financial awareness is a cornerstone of future independence.

Magic? Only on Stage

A special surprise awaited at the end of the day: a performance by an illusionist. The jaw-dropping tricks served as a fitting metaphor for the entire experience: magic can delight, but in life we mustn’t be misled by illusions. Competencies such as communication and collaboration—together with sound knowledge and practical skills—are the real force that enables wise decisions in adult life.

Our warm thanks to Colgate-Palmolive for your hospitality and the heart you put into every detail of the visit. EduJourneys only make sense when knowledge meets experience and theory meets practice. Thanks to you—and to the young participants’ curiosity—we made that happen once again!

Colgate-Palmolive is a long-standing partner of the Foundation for Good Initiatives, supporting children in foster care not only through renovation drives and school-starter kits, but also through projects such as “First Star of Self-Reliance” and “Parcel for a Senior.” The Warsaw team of this global company organises its efforts within an employee skills-based volunteering programme.
